Regulation Regarding Rooftop Solar PV Is Immediately Issued

MANADO – The government is optimistic that the 23% New Renewable Energy (EBT) energy mix target by the end of 2025 will be achieved. To realize the various strategic steps taken by the Government. One of them is by optimizing the potential of local energy to be maximized as the main energy source. This is because not all regions have maximum potential for EBT and can be developed commercially.

“If EBT is more to local wisdom or local wisdom. Why (local wisdom)? Because not all regions have (potential) EBT,” Arcandra explained after opening the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) Association of Provincial ESDM Management Offices in Indonesia in Manado (8/23).

In addition to utilizing the potential of the region, Arcandra also explained other government efforts to encourage the achievement of a 23% energy mix, namely by utilizing Solar PV at Rooftoop, which is currently being finalized and will soon be issued.

“We are trying our best so that the 23% energy mix is achieved, one of which is with (Solar PV) Rooftoop. We are completing the ESDM Minister’s Regulation as soon as possible,” Arcandra said.

The benefits of using solar energy for households are estimated to be able to save electricity costs between 20-30 KWh. The savings can later be exchanged through the mechanism of export-import to PLN.

“With the rooftop (Solar PV), the usage which is usually 100 KWh can be reduced between 20-30 KWh. Now this is what we export imports to PLN,” concluded Arcandra.

As is known, the Government continues to maintain that the energy mix composition for plants remains optimal. This effort was taken through the ratification of the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of the State Electricity Company (PLN) Persero 2018-2027.

In the RUPTL, the Government has set a generator energy mix target by the end of 2025 for Coal at 54.4%, Renewable New Energy (EBT) 23.0%, Gas at 22.2% and 0.4% Fuel Oil.
